Qualifications & Experience

Owned by Matthew Wakefield, Ascent Cycles is a fully equipped mobile repair service, offering an advanced standard of cycle repair, maintenance, and more. With over 20 years of bike shop experience, working directly on customer repairs, Matt has a huge wealth of knowledge on a wide range of products and services. 

 

Also an active cyclist and a member of the Oxonian Cycle Club, Matt regularly competes in Regional CycloCross racing, as well as getting out into the Oxfordshire countryside on his road bike. In 2021 Matt qualified as a British Cycling Coach and has run coaching sessions for children in association with Oxonian Cycle Club. 

 

Matt's favourite part of cycling is pushing himself through a challenging uphill climb, which influenced his decision to name the business Ascent Cycles!
